Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra eSIM: SIM slots by market and setup

Does the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra have eSIM, how the US, Korean, European and other versions differ, and how to add a travel eSIM as a second line.

Published · 8 min read · MoreSim editorial team

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has eSIM, and so do the Galaxy S26 and S26+: according to Samsung’s specs as of October 2026, all three models take a nano-SIM and an eSIM. There’s no eSIM-only version — even the US and South Korean models keep a SIM tray. What differs is the number of nano-SIMs: Samsung lists a dual nano-SIM option for Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan, the UAE and India, and a single one for the US and Korea.

Does the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26 and S26+ have eSIM?

Yes, all three Samsung Galaxy S26 flagships — the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra — have eSIM. Samsung unveiled them on February 25, 2026, at Galaxy Unpacked in San Francisco, and the specs for each model list a nano-SIM plus a built-in eSIM. The “Dual-SIM” label in the same specs means two lines can be active at once.

Galaxy S26 Edge—Never released

There’s no Galaxy S26 Edge in the lineup: Samsung didn’t announce one, and as of October 2026 it isn’t on any Samsung website. The Galaxy S26 FE arrived later than the main three and went on sale on September 4, 2026, in select markets. Its specs list eSIM too, and the number of nano-SIM slots varies by market the same way as on the S26.

How do the US, Korean, European and other Galaxy S26 versions differ?

Galaxy S26 versions for different countries differ in how many nano-SIMs sit next to the eSIM; the eSIM itself is in every one. The table shows the SIM combinations Samsung lists on its regional websites as of October 2026. They’re the same for the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra within one market.

MarketS26 Ultra codeSIM combinations according to Samsung
Europe (UK, Germany, France), Russia, Kazakhstan, UAE, IndiaSM-S948BSIM 1 + SIM 2 / SIM 1 + eSIM / Dual eSIM
ChinaSM-S9480SIM 1 + SIM 2 / SIM 1 + eSIM / Dual eSIM
USSM-S948U, SM-S948U1SIM 1 + eSIM / Dual eSIM
South KoreaSM-S948NSIM 1 + eSIM / Dual eSIM

“SIM 1 + SIM 2” means two physical nano-SIMs, “SIM 1 + eSIM” means one physical card plus an eSIM, and “Dual eSIM” means two eSIMs with no plastic at all. Two lines are active at a time, and you pick which ones in SIM manager. The S26 and S26+ have different digits in their model codes, but the regional ending is the same: B, 0, U or N.

Samsung’s Russian website lists the Galaxy S26 series with the same setup as the European one. Still, stores and resellers carry phones built for any market, so go by your phone’s model code, not the country where you bought it. For the previous generation, see our Galaxy S25 guide; for the S, Z and A series overall, see our rundown of which Samsung phones support eSIM.

Is there an eSIM-only Samsung Galaxy S26?

No. According to Samsung’s specs as of October 2026, there’s no eSIM-only Galaxy S26, including in the US. For the US version, Samsung lists “SIM 1 + eSIM / Dual eSIM”: one nano-SIM plus an eSIM, or two eSIMs if you leave the tray empty. The Korean version works the same way.

Every model in the series has a nano-SIM tray. Samsung’s guide to inserting a SIM card in the Galaxy S26 series says the tray sits at the bottom left on the S26 and S26+ and at the bottom right on the S26 Ultra, and that dual SIM support may vary by country or region.

How to check eSIM on your Galaxy S26

Checking eSIM on the phone itself is more reliable than trusting a listing: it takes a minute, and the answer applies to your exact Galaxy S26. That matters most for a second-hand phone or one brought in from another country.

  1. Dial *#06# in the Phone app. If an EID shows up among the numbers, the eSIM chip is there.
  2. Open Settings, then Connections and SIM manager. An “Add eSIM” option means you can install an eSIM.
  3. In About phone, find the model code, for example SM-S948B, and match it against Samsung’s specs for that country.
  4. Pop out the tray and see how many nano-SIM spots it has: one or two.
  5. If in doubt, run your model through the compatibility check in the @moresim_bot Telegram bot.

Samsung Galaxy S26 12GB/512GB: does storage affect SIM and eSIM?

No, storage doesn’t change the SIM setup: for the Galaxy S26 and S26+ with 256GB and 512GB in the same market, Samsung lists identical SIM combinations. A listing like “Samsung Galaxy S26 12GB/512GB SIM + eSIM” tells you the memory and that there’s an eSIM, while the number of nano-SIMs depends on the market version.

For a traveler, the difference between versions is barely noticeable. Your home number stays on a nano-SIM or an eSIM, the travel eSIM goes in as a second line, and both work at the same time on any Galaxy S26. Our explainer on “SIM + eSIM” and “Dual SIM” labels covers what listings actually mean.

How to install a travel eSIM on the Galaxy S26

A travel eSIM installs on the Galaxy S26 with a QR code through SIM manager and runs as a second line, while your home SIM stays in the tray for calls and texts. If your home number is already on an eSIM, that’s fine too: every S26 version supports two eSIMs at once.

  1. Connect to stable Wi-Fi — the profile downloads over the internet.
  2. Open Connections, then SIM manager, and tap “Add eSIM”.
  3. Scan the QR code. With MoreSim, it arrives in the chat in about 30 seconds after payment.
  4. Give the new line a clear name, like the destination country.
  5. On the trip, set the eSIM as your mobile data line and turn on data roaming for it: most travel eSIMs run on a local carrier’s network as roaming, so without it you won’t get data. If your plan’s instructions say otherwise, follow them.
  6. Turn off mobile data on your home SIM so data doesn’t go through your home carrier. Keep the line itself on if you’re expecting bank texts — that needs roaming enabled with your carrier.

It’s handy to install the profile at home before your flight: the plan starts counting on first connection in the destination. If you run out of data, top up the MoreSim plan without a new eSIM: use “Top up data” on the eSIM card in your account or in the bot’s app, if top-ups are available for that plan. MoreSim plans are data-only, with no phone number. You can call through messaging apps where they aren’t restricted, and bank texts keep arriving on your home SIM.

You can buy a plan on the MoreSim website or in the @moresim_bot Telegram bot and pay with Telegram Stars from any country, right in the bot (bank card and SBP payments currently work with cards issued in Russia); our guide to buying an eSIM online explains what to check with any seller. Step-by-step setup in One UI is in our Samsung eSIM guide. If something goes wrong, MoreSim support is available via /support in the bot, a ticket in your account and email.

FAQ

Does the Samsung S26 Ultra have eSIM?

Yes. According to Samsung’s specs as of October 2026, the Galaxy S26 Ultra supports eSIM in versions for Europe, Russia, the US, Korea and other markets. The only difference is how many nano-SIMs sit next to the eSIM: one or two. Check your own phone for an EID after dialing *#06# and for the “Add eSIM” option in SIM manager.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S26 SIM + eSIM or eSIM-only?

The Galaxy S26 is SIM + eSIM: Samsung doesn’t make an eSIM-only version, and even the US and Korean models have a nano-SIM tray. For Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan, the UAE and India, Samsung also lists a dual nano-SIM option. Two lines work at the same time.

Do the Galaxy S26 and S26+ have eSIM?

Yes, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ support eSIM just like the S26 Ultra. All three share the same SIM combinations within each market. Versions for Europe and Russia take two nano-SIMs, a nano-SIM plus an eSIM, or two eSIMs; versions for the US and Korea take one nano-SIM plus an eSIM, or two eSIMs.

How many eSIMs can the Samsung Galaxy S26 hold?

Two lines can be active at once, and both can be eSIMs: Samsung lists Dual eSIM for every Galaxy S26 version. The phone can store more profiles than that, but the number depends on the firmware, so go by what SIM manager shows. You can turn off extra profiles before a trip without deleting them.

Does the 12GB/512GB Galaxy S26 have eSIM?

Yes, and storage makes no difference. For 256GB and 512GB versions in the same market, Samsung lists identical SIM combinations, so a Samsung Galaxy S26 12GB/512GB with SIM + eSIM differs from other configurations only in memory. What matters is the market the phone was built for, and the model code tells you that.

Was there a Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge?

No. In February 2026, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, and the Galaxy S26 FE has been on sale since September. As of October 2026, there’s no Galaxy S26 Edge on Samsung’s websites. If you see one in a listing, ask the seller for the model code.

Will a MoreSim travel eSIM work on the Galaxy S26?

If SIM manager has the “Add eSIM” option and the phone isn’t carrier-locked, a travel eSIM installs with a QR code as a second line. With MoreSim, the code arrives in the chat in about 30 seconds after payment. You can check your model in advance with the compatibility check in the @moresim_bot Telegram bot.
