Samsung Galaxy S25 eSIM: SIM + eSIM, regional versions and setup
Does the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra support eSIM, how versions for different markets differ, how to check your phone and add a travel eSIM as a second line.
The Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra support eSIM — Samsung says so for the whole series. The difference between versions for different countries is which slots sit alongside the eSIM: one nano-SIM or two. So the answer to “does the S25 have eSIM” is almost always yes, but it’s still worth taking a minute to check your particular phone in settings.
Does the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra support eSIM?
All three main models in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series — S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra — support eSIM. That’s what Samsung’s specs said at launch, and it applies to most markets where the series is sold. What varies isn’t eSIM support itself but the tray configuration: in some countries there’s one nano-SIM next to the eSIM, in others there are two.
If a listing says “Dual SIM” without mentioning eSIM, that doesn’t mean there’s no built-in SIM. Sellers often cut corners on specs, and “Dual SIM” only says the phone can run two lines at once. Our explainer on what SIM + eSIM and Dual SIM mean covers these labels in detail.
| Model | eSIM according to Samsung | What can differ by market |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S25 | Supported | One or two nano-SIMs next to the eSIM |
| Galaxy S25+ | Supported | One or two nano-SIMs next to the eSIM |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | Supported | One or two nano-SIMs next to the eSIM |
| Galaxy S25 Edge and S25 FE | Supported on Samsung’s list for Australian versions as of September 2026 | Slot setup and support in versions for other countries |
The last row of the table comes from Samsung’s list for Australian versions: for models released after the main three, data for different countries doesn’t appear all at once. It’s safer to check the specs for your exact version on Samsung’s website for your country than to rely on secondhand summaries.
What does “SIM + eSIM” mean on the Samsung S25?
“SIM + eSIM” on the Samsung S25 means the phone has a slot for a physical nano-SIM plus a built-in eSIM chip. Both lines work at the same time: you can keep your home number on the physical card and get mobile data on a trip from a travel eSIM.
- nano-SIM + eSIM is the most common setup: one physical card and one digital line, working together.
- Two nano-SIMs + eSIM means the tray holds two physical cards plus the built-in chip. Usually two of the three lines are active at once, and you choose which.
- Multiple eSIM profiles: the chip stores more than one profile, but not all of them can be on at once. How many are active simultaneously depends on the firmware.
For a traveler, the difference between these setups is barely noticeable. Either way, your home SIM stays in the phone and receives calls and texts, while the travel eSIM gives you data in the destination. The only thing that matters is that SIM manager has an option to add an eSIM.
How to check eSIM on your Galaxy S25 in a minute
The easiest way to check eSIM on a Galaxy S25 is on the phone itself, not in a store listing. That’s especially important if the phone is second-hand, bought abroad or sold in a version for another country.
- Dial *#06# in the Phone app. If an EID appears among the numbers, the eSIM chip is there.
- Open Settings, go to Connections and then SIM manager.
- Look for “Add eSIM” — some One UI versions word it differently, so go by meaning.
- Type “eSIM” into the settings search if you can’t find it right away.
- Run your model through the compatibility check in the @moresim_bot Telegram bot.
If there’s an EID but you can’t add an eSIM, the phone may be carrier-locked. This happens with phones bought on contract from a carrier abroad: the chip only accepts that carrier’s profiles. We cover this case separately in our guide to carrier-locked phones.
How to buy a Galaxy S25 with eSIM without getting it wrong
When buying a Samsung Galaxy S25 or S25 Ultra with eSIM, look at the specs for the specific version, not the general model page. Imported and second-hand Samsung flagships are often built for other markets, and a store may not say which version it’s selling.
- Ask the seller for the full model code and the country the phone was built for.
- Match the code against Samsung’s specs for that country: they show whether there’s eSIM and how many nano-SIM slots.
- Look for an explicit eSIM line in the listing, not just “Dual SIM”.
- Ask whether the phone is locked to a carrier abroad. For phones from the US, this is a common question.
- Right after buying, check the EID with *#06# and the add eSIM option — returns are easier in the first few days.
Storage size, color and bundle don’t affect eSIM support. Searches like “Galaxy S25 256GB eSIM” are really about the same thing: Samsung lists eSIM for the S25 series regardless of storage, and what decides it is the market version.
How to install a travel eSIM on the S25
A travel eSIM installs on the Galaxy S25 with a QR code through SIM manager and works as a second line. Your home SIM stays in the tray, and your number stays reachable for calls and bank texts.
- Connect to stable Wi-Fi; the profile downloads over the internet.
- Open Settings, Connections, SIM manager and choose to add an eSIM.
- Scan the QR code. With MoreSim, it arrives in the chat in about 30 seconds after payment.
- Wait for the profile to download and give the line a clear name, like the destination country.
- On the trip, set the eSIM as your cellular data line and turn on data roaming for it: most travel eSIMs connect to a local carrier’s network as roaming SIMs, so without it you won’t get data.
- Turn off cellular data on your home SIM so your data doesn’t go through your home carrier.
It’s convenient to install the profile ahead of time, at home. A MoreSim plan starts counting from its first connection to a network in your destination country, so an eSIM installed before your flight doesn’t use up days. If you run out of data, top up without a new eSIM: use “Top up data” on the eSIM card in your account or in the bot’s app, if top-ups are available for that plan.
Does the Samsung Galaxy S26 have eSIM?
The Samsung Galaxy S26 has eSIM: according to Samsung, as of September 2026 the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra and S26 FE support eSIM, and they appear on the list of eSIM-compatible models on Samsung’s website for Australian versions. As with the S25, the slot setup depends on the market the phone was built for, so versions for different countries may differ.
The check is the same as for the S25: an EID after dialing *#06#, the add eSIM option in SIM manager and the compatibility check in the @moresim_bot bot. If you’re buying an S26 for eSIM, match the full model code against Samsung’s specs for the country it comes from.
What if your S25 has no mobile data after landing?
If your Galaxy S25 has no mobile data after landing, it’s almost always the line settings, not the profile. Run through this short list in order.
- The travel eSIM, not your home SIM, is selected for mobile data.
- Data roaming is turned on for the eSIM line.
- The eSIM line is switched on in SIM manager.
- Airplane mode for thirty seconds helps the phone find the network again.
- Network selection is set to automatic, not manual.

FAQ
Do all Galaxy S25 versions have eSIM?
According to Samsung, all three main models in the series, the S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra, support eSIM in versions for most markets. What differs between versions is the slot combination: nano-SIM + eSIM or two nano-SIMs + eSIM. Check your own phone in SIM manager and look for an EID after dialing *#06#.
What does SIM + eSIM mean on the Samsung S25?
SIM + eSIM means the Galaxy S25 has a slot for a physical nano-SIM plus a built-in eSIM chip. Both lines work at the same time: your home SIM stays in the tray and a travel eSIM runs as a second line. Some versions have two nano-SIM slots, in which case the eSIM is a third option to choose from.
How do I make sure an imported Galaxy S25 Ultra has eSIM?
Samsung states eSIM support for the S25 series, but phones sold as imports or second-hand may be built for a different market than yours. Before buying, ask the seller which country the phone was made for and match the model code against Samsung’s specs for that country. After buying, check that SIM manager offers an option to add an eSIM.
How does the Galaxy S26 compare with the S25 on eSIM?
There’s no difference in eSIM support itself: according to Samsung, as of September 2026 both the S25 series and the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra and S26 FE have eSIM. What can differ is the slot setup in versions for different markets. Check an S26 the same way as an S25: the add eSIM option in SIM manager and an EID after dialing *#06#.
How many eSIMs can the Galaxy S25 hold?
The Galaxy S25 can store several eSIM profiles, but not all of them are active at once: usually two lines work at the same time. The exact number of profiles depends on the firmware and the market, so go by what SIM manager shows. You can turn off extra profiles before a trip without deleting them.
Will a MoreSim travel eSIM work on the S25?
If your Galaxy S25 has the add eSIM option and isn’t carrier-locked, a travel eSIM installs the usual way with a QR code. With MoreSim, the code arrives in the chat in about 30 seconds after payment. You can check your model in advance with the compatibility check in the @moresim_bot Telegram bot.
