The easiest way to get online in Antalya is a travel eSIM for Turkey: install the profile at home on Wi-Fi as a second line, then switch it on after landing at Antalya Airport (AYT). In Antalya and along the resort strip — Kemer, Belek, Side, Alanya — coverage is usually solid. The weak spots are the Taurus mountains above the coast, the canyons on day trips, the back lanes of Kaleiçi old town and open water.

What is mobile coverage in Antalya actually like?

Mobile data in Antalya usually works well wherever visitors go: the city is long and densely built, so directions to Konyaaltı beach, a taxi in Lara or a video call home run without a hitch. A travel eSIM roams on a Turkish network — Turkcell, Vodafone or Türk Telekom, depending on the plan. When the signal drops, blame the terrain, not the neighborhood: the cliff above the old harbor, the mountains behind Kemer, the gorges on day trips, where people with Turkish SIM cards tend to be offline too.

Antalya Airport (AYT) and the ride to your hotel

Antalya Airport (AYT) sits northeast of the city center and handles most of the traffic to the resorts from Kemer to Alanya. AYT has more than one terminal, so check yours if someone is meeting you. Mobile data at Antalya Airport usually shows up before passport control and keeps working at baggage claim and out by the buses.

The drive to your hotel follows the coastal highway, and the signal usually holds most of the way; only the road to Kemer runs under the cliffs and through tunnels, where you may briefly lose it. Group transfers drop off hotel by hotel, so keep the driver’s chat handy and save your hotel’s name in Turkish — the strip is full of similar ones. With the profile already installed, all that’s left at AYT is switching lines:

  1. At home, run the compatibility check in @moresim_bot, buy a Turkey plan and install the profile on home Wi-Fi.
  2. Download an offline map of the whole coast from Kemer to Alanya.
  3. After landing at AYT, turn off airplane mode, set the Turkish line as your data line and turn on data roaming for it: a travel eSIM runs on the local network as a roaming line, so without it you won’t get data.
  4. Turn off mobile data on your home SIM so you don’t use data through your home carrier. Leave the line itself on if you’re expecting bank texts; that only works if roaming is available on it.
  5. Message whoever is meeting you from the terminal; in a rental car, set your route before you leave the lot.
  6. If no network shows up within a few minutes, toggle airplane mode off and on again.

The resort strip: Kemer, Belek, Side and Alanya

The resort strip around Antalya runs along the shore for well over a hundred kilometers, and coverage changes with the terrain, not the resort: short dead spots where the mountains drop into the sea, usually solid data in the towns, on the seafronts and in the hotel zones.

Kaleiçi and the old harbor: coverage in Antalya’s old town

Kaleiçi is Antalya’s walled old quarter, with narrow lanes, Hadrian’s Gate and a path down to the old harbor. Mobile data on its streets usually works but dips in dead-end lanes between stone walls, in basement shops and under the harbor cliff, and navigation apps struggle with the twisting lanes. Exploring as a group? Pick a meeting spot in advance, such as Hadrian’s Gate or the clock tower, and keep your address in Turkish in your notes to show a driver.

Day trips: the Taurus mountains, Pamukkale and rafting in Köprülü

Classic day trips out of Antalya climb into the Taurus mountains, and coverage behaves the same each time: fine in villages and on main highways, gone on switchbacks and in gorges. The top cable-car station on Tahtalı can get a decent signal while the road to the lower station cuts in and out, and the Olympos valley is patchy at best. On the Pamukkale trip the signal drops on the passes toward Denizli, and on a Köprülü Canyon rafting trip there’s usually none between the canyon walls.

Konyaaltı and Lara beaches, boats off Kemer: where you need mobile data

Antalya’s public beaches — pebbly Konyaaltı west of the center and sandy Lara to the east — are in built-up parts of the city, and mobile data there usually works. If your hotel is across the road from the sea, as is common around Konyaaltı and in central Kemer, hotel Wi-Fi stays behind, and maps, a taxi back and group chats run on mobile data.

Boat trips leave from Antalya’s old harbor, Kemer marina, Side and Alanya. While the boat hugs the built-up shore and ducks into open bays, mobile data usually works; in enclosed coves under the cliffs near Kemer it can drop, and the farther out you go, the weaker the signal. Not every tour boat has Wi-Fi, so save the mooring spot, the return time and the organizer’s contact offline before you head out.

Local SIM in Antalya or a travel eSIM?

A local SIM in Antalya makes sense if you need a Turkish number — for a long rental, a winter stay, or dealing with your host and local services. Turkcell, Vodafone and Türk Telekom stores sell them at the airport and in the resort towns; bring your passport. As of October 2026, a phone bought abroad works with a Turkish SIM for up to 120 days; after that it needs paid IMEI registration or Turkish networks block it, so check the rules before you go. Our Turkey internet guide covers carriers and IMEI, and our guide to choosing an eSIM for Turkey compares the options.

For a week or two in Kemer, Belek or Side, a travel eSIM is usually simpler: no store, and the plan starts counting on your first connection in the destination country, so you can install it at home. Your home SIM stays in as a second line, and bank texts keep arriving as long as roaming is available on that line and it’s registered on a network — our guide to bank texts abroad covers what to check. MoreSim plans are mobile data only, with no phone number: you call through messaging apps, and the data and validity options for Turkey are on its country page.

How much data you’ll use depends on the trip: a hotel week uses little if heavy uploads wait for hotel Wi-Fi, while a rental car with navigation and cloud photo backups uses a lot more. Our data guide helps you size it, and if you run out early, top up without a new eSIM: use “Top up data” on the eSIM card in your account or in the bot’s app, if top-ups are available for that plan. If the Turkish line won’t connect after landing, contact MoreSim support via /support in @moresim_bot, a ticket in your account or email.

FAQ

How do I get mobile data in Antalya as a tourist?

Install a travel eSIM for Turkey at home on Wi-Fi, then after landing at AYT turn off airplane mode, set the Turkish line as your data line and turn on data roaming for it. The phone usually finds a network before passport control. If it hasn’t connected after a few minutes, toggle airplane mode off and on again.

Is there internet at Antalya Airport?

Mobile data at Antalya Airport (AYT) normally works throughout the terminal, including baggage claim and the exit to the buses. There is public Wi-Fi too, but it usually requires registration and free sessions can be time-limited, so check on the spot. Install your eSIM profile at home, since a QR install needs a stable connection.

Where can I buy a SIM card in Antalya?

Turkcell, Vodafone and Türk Telekom stores sell SIM cards at the airport and in resort towns like Kemer and Alanya; bring your passport. As of October 2026, a foreign phone works with a local SIM for up to 120 days, then needs paid IMEI registration, so ask about the terms in the store. If you only need data rather than a Turkish number, a travel eSIM installed at home skips the store.

Does a Turkey plan work in Kemer and Side?

Yes. A Turkey plan works nationwide, so you don’t need a separate eSIM for Kemer, Belek, Side or Alanya. Coverage in the resort towns is usually as solid as in Antalya itself and fades only once you turn off the coastal highway into the mountains.

Is there a signal on the Pamukkale day trip and in the Taurus mountains?

Pamukkale village and Denizli normally have mobile data, but the mountain road through the Taurus range goes dark for long stretches, as do the climb to Tahtalı and Köprülü Canyon, where the rafting trips run. Download an offline map and save your group’s meeting time and place before you set off.

Is there a signal on Konyaaltı and Lara beaches?

On Antalya’s public beaches — Konyaaltı to the west and Lara to the east — mobile data usually works, since the shore is built up and the towers are close. A packed beach in peak season can slow things down, but messages and maps usually get through. Hotel Wi-Fi rarely reaches a public beach across the road.

Will I have a signal on a boat trip along the Antalya coast?

Near the built-up shore and in open bays around Kemer, Side and Alanya mobile data usually works, but in enclosed coves under the cliffs and out in open water the signal fades and can drop. Save the meeting point, return time and organizer’s contact offline, since not every tour boat has Wi-Fi.
